The issue comes when trying to burn DVDs - it takes ages and then fails with a very non specific 'An error occurred while the disc images were being copied' message - I've tried a few times, with a few different files, and either straight from HDD or with the camera plugged in (uses it to convert the files?) but always the same result. I then did some basic editing (trimming) and put related clips together with some basic transitions using the output file option thinking they would be chapters on the final discs. I installed the HD Writer AE that came bundled with the camcorder, and that has successfully captured the footage and put it onto the PC. Recently got back from holiday with several hours worth of video footage captured on a new HC-V500.
